At Moving Mountains Village, we support the adults who walk alongside children every day. As a neurodiversity-affirming clinic, we work with families, educators, and caregivers to provide practical, respectful support that helps children thrive. These FAQs are here to guide you - because we know it takes a village.

  • Your first visit is all about connection. We’ll spend time getting to know you and your child to understand what’s working well and where more support is needed Depending on your child’s history and development, we may use a mix of play based observation, parent discussion and standardised assessments. From there, we’ll work together to shape a plan that supports your child’s growth in a way that feels practical, purposeful and empowering. 

  • Most families attend weekly sessions as we find this supports steady progress and consistency. The exact frequency will depend on your child’s goals and how we can best support them. We’ll review our approach regularly and adjust and adjust the the sessions length and frequency accordingly. 

  • Every child’s journey is unique to them.  Some children reach their goals in a short burst of sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support over time. We’ll keep track of your child’s progress together and adjust the plan as needed, so therapy stays purposeful and relevant every step of the way.

  • Yes, we do! Telehealth can be a wonderful option for families who prefer the comfort of home or find it tricky to attend in person. We offer occupational, and behaviour therapy via secure online platforms. Our therapists will work with you to make sure sessions are engaging, practical and tailored to your child’s goals, no matter where you are joining from. 

  • Private health coverage varies depending on your provider and plan. We recommend checking in with your fund directly. You’ll also find helpful information about rebates and funding on our Funding & Rebates page.

  • Yes, and we encourage it! We love working alongside parents and caregivers and welcome your involvement. Whether you're joining in clinic sessions or supporting from home, your insight plays a key role in helping your child grow and thrive.

  • Not at all. You’re welcome to get started with us anytime, no referral needed. If you’re exploring Medicare rebates, NDIS funding, or other support options, we’ve outlined everything you need on our Funding & Rebates page.

  • We use a secure online system to process payments after each appointment. Your payment details are stored safely, and payment is taken on the day of service. We don’t accept cash or bank transfers. If your child is NDIS Plan Managed or supported by a third party, we’ll coordinate payment directly. Please note, we’re not currently registered for NDIS Agency Managed plans.

  • We understand that plans change. If you need to reschedule or cancel, we offer flexible options, just let us know as early as possible.
