AHA Mentoring at Moving Mountains Village
At Moving Mountains Village, we’re proud to offer a supportive and practical Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Mentoring Program designed to build confidence, skill, and professional readiness in the next generation of AHAs.
Our program offers a meaningful pathway into the allied health space, providing hands-on experience, reflective learning opportunities, and a strong foundation in delivering neurodiverse-affirming and strengths-based support to children and families.

This program is ideal for:
Allied Health Assistant students completing placement hours
Qualified AHAs looking to refine their skills in paediatrics

What Does the Mentoring Involve?
We provide a structured and individualised mentoring experience that includes:

Spend time with experienced occupational therapists to understand how therapy goals are created and implemented in practice.
Skill-building
Learn how to run engaging, meaningful sessions that follow the child’s lead while staying aligned with therapy goals.
Regular supervision
Participate in mentoring sessions with your designated OT mentor, where we reflect on your work, build your confidence, and explore new learning.
Practical resources and tools
Gain access to session planning templates, play-based frameworks, and evidence-informed approaches that support quality therapy delivery.
Our Approach
We believe that strong mentorship is built on connection, clarity, and curiosity. Our mentors are passionate about sharing their knowledge and supporting AHAs to become thoughtful, responsive, and child-centred in their work.
We focus on:
Encouraging reflective practice
Fostering confidence through consistent feedback
Building understanding around the purpose behind each therapy activity
Supporting positive communication with children, families, and therapists
Why It Matters
AHAs play an important role in expanding access to therapy and supporting continuity of care. With the right guidance, AHAs can help children build confidence, explore new skills, and generalise therapy goals into their everyday environments. Through our mentor program, we aim to ensure this support is delivered with intention, care, and quality.

Expression of Interest
If you’re interested in joining our AHA mentoring program, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you're a student, graduate, or exploring the allied health world, we welcome you to be part of a workplace that values learning, collaboration, and child-centred practice.
